We were an idea.
Today we are reality.
In 1988 three young students founded Altromercato, determined to support the project of UCIRI, an organization of organic coffee farmers in Mexico.
Over the years we have grown into a network of over 50 members and in 1997 our products entered large-scale distribution and specialized stores.
In the early 2000s, the number of members increased to 150, as did the number of producers we work with. Alongside us is CTM Agrofair, the company that continues to run the fresh fruit and vegetable sector.
New projects and initiatives make us grow, such as the domestic fair trade Solidale Italiano, the Sustainable Economy Project and the Good’s hub.

Altromercato is also fair trade fruit and vegetables
Altromercato fair trade fruit and vegetables are distributed by Ctm Agrofair, a company specialized in the distribution of fair trade fruit and vegetables in the Italian market.
CTM Agrofair was founded in the early 2000s as a joint venture between us and Agrofair Europe, Europe’s largest importer of fair trade fresh fruit. Thanks to this union, we have been able to build ethical supply chains for the distribution of fruit and vegetables from all over the world over the years, always respecting the values that distinguish us.
